Farmington Resident Wins $51,613 Northstar Cash® Prize
JANUARY 12, 2010 — Les Freske of Farmington won $51,613 by playing the Lottery’s Northstar Cash game. Freske’s ticket was one of two tickets sold for the Jan. 7 drawing that matched all five numbers drawn (4-13-16-17-26) to split the $103,226 jackpot.
Freske claimed the prize at the Lottery’s headquarters in Roseville on Jan. 11.
Econofoods, located at 115 Elm St. in Farmington, sold the winning ticket.
The other $51,613 prize from the Jan. 7 drawing was claimed by David Solum of Hawick.
The following Northstar Cash jackpots are currently unclaimed: one worth $63,148 from the drawing on Oct. 10, 2009 (ticket sold in Washington County) and one worth $35,422 from the drawing on Nov. 25, 2009 (ticket sold in Hennepin County). Northstar Cash players have one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.
To play Northstar Cash, players select five numbers from 1 to 31. Matching the five numbers drawn wins the jackpot, which starts at $25,000 and grows until it is won. Players also win by matching 2, 3 or 4 of the numbers drawn.
Northstar Cash drawings are conducted daily after the Daily 3® drawing. Tickets must be purchased by 6:10 p.m. on the day of the drawing.
Lottery players must be 18 years of age or older. Please play responsibly. If you or someone you know needs help with a gambling problem, call (800) 333-HOPE.
